Dental Assistant

Our full-time Dental Assistant should be well-organized with great attention to detail. Skilled in providing direct and indirect patient care, anticipate next steps, take initiative and be able to make dental procedures go as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and bring them back to clinical setting
  • Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort
  • Get vital signs and review medical history
  • Select and set up proper instruments, equipment and materials for procedures
  • Assist dentist in 4-handed dentistry
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Undertake laboratory tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep dental treatment rooms clean and well-stocked
  • Educate patients with current treatment plan and next steps
  • Maintain accurate patient records and provide quality radiographs and treatment write-ups
  • Aid in dental and periodontal charting
  • Keep on schedule to the best of your ability
  • Assist with flow of the practice, which will include answering the phone, taking messages, printing, referrals, copying, faxing, etc.

Skill Sets Required

  • Proven experience as a chairside dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform tasks as assigned
  • Good computer skills (bonus if knowledge in EagleSoft)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Prefer a certified RDA (Registered Dental Assistant), but not required to start (must achieve RDA within 6 months of employment if not already)
  • Willing to train the “right “ individual
  • Additional certification and/or training is an asset.

Front Office Business Specialist

Our full-time Business Specialist should be well-organized with great attention to detail. Skilled in providing a positive direct and indirect patient experience, anticipate next steps, take initiative and be able to make a patient’s transition from entry to exit as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet patients to the practice
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed
  • Assist patients to fill out all required practice forms
  • Preparing patients’ records and daily schedules for the dental staff
  • Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures with accuracy
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders
  • Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patient benefits
  • Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments
  • Educate patients with current treatment plan and next steps
  • Keep on schedule to the best of your ability
  • Assist with flow of the practice, which will include answering the phone, taking messages, printing, referrals, copying, faxing, etc.

Skill Sets Required

  • Proven experience as a dental receptionist
  • Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous
  • Proven experience working in a dental practice; Sound knowledge of dental terminology
  • Working knowledge of general administrative practices
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform tasks as assigned
  • Great computer skills (bonus if knowledge in Eaglesoft or dental practice software)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well- organized and reliable
  • Excellent customer service
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • We are willing to train the “right” individual
  • Additional certification and/or training is an asset.
